Campaigns

Norfolk Living Streets (NLS) is campaigning on the following areas.

Walk to School

We're trying to encourage more children (and their parents) to walk to school rather than go in the car. There are huge benefits to walking - the children get exercise, fresh air and become more independent. And it's a lot cheaper than driving!

In Eaton, the Save our School Run campaign is working to re-open a footpath to make it easier for children to walk to school. www.facebook.com/soschoolrun

If you're experiencing any problems walking with your children to school, please let us know and we'll see if we can help.

Pavement Parking

Pavement parking is annoying for pedestrians and can be dangerous if it forces pedestrians' out into the road. It is a particulary problem for parents with pushchairs, wheelchair users and the visually impaired who often can't get through if the pavement is blocked by a car. Pavements are for people!

Living Streets nationally is campaigning for pavement parking to be made illegal outside of London (where it is already banned). Here in Norfolk we have 'parking notice' leaflets that can be used where pavement parking is a problem. Please contact us for more details.

Public Transport

We campaign for better public transports throughout Norfolk and as such NLS is now part of the Norfolk Bus Forum. If you have any issues you would like us to raise, please let us know.
